The Team

GRIP was founded by Dinagren Balakrishnan, who has over 22 years’ experience in group risk insurance specialising in pricing, product development, distribution, claims, underwriting and administration.

This extensive experience was gained from four large South African JSE listed life insurance companies. Dinagren graduated from Wits University with a BSc (Honours) in computational and applied mathematics with distinction. He also graduated from Regent Business School with a Masters degree in Business Administration, is an Associate Actuary of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and a Certified Financial Planner® with the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa.

Dinagren has a very technical background in group risk insurance but has the unique ability to communicate these very technical concepts to a non-technical audience. He loves interacting with clients and developing solutions for them that meet all stakeholder needs. Dinagren also loves growing sustainable books of life insurance business.
